Hazard and Operability Analysis HAZOP - Hazop+ from Isograph

New in Hazop+ Version 2.0

The latest version of Hazop+ 2.0 includes many additions to previous versions. Some of the new features and enhancements are summarized below:

Improved Interface

Hazop+ 2.0 now uses a multiple document interface. The Hazop data is displayed in one window (the Hazop+ window) and reports in one or more report windows. The Hazop+ interface is now uses a navigation bar at the left hand side of the Hazop+ window to select the data to be edited. The corresponding input data sheets are displayed at the right hand side of the Hazop+ window. The new interface allows the user to rapidly move from one input data sheet to another.The most common menu options are now replicated on the program toolbar.

Unlimited Undo/Redo

Hazop+ now supports unlimited undo and redo of all operations, except study and action data when study and action headings are removed.

Study Sheet

A tree control has been added to the study sheet allowing the user to rapidly select individual item/parameter/guide word combinations. The most common menu options are now quickly accessible via the program toolbar.

Library Facility

The Hazop+ built-in study headings, action headings, parameters and guide words have been replaced with a library facility. The supplied library contains all the study headings, action headings, parameters and guide words that were previously built-in to the program. These are contained in the 'Standard' category. The user may add their own study headings, action headings, parameters and guide words to this category or create their own category and add items to that.

In addition to modifying the supplied library the user may create their own libraries.

The study headings, action headings, parameters and guide words displayed in the program are dependent on the library and category selected.

Item Parameter Association

As well as associating one or more guide words with individual parameters the user may now associate one or more parameters with individual items.

New Risk Ranking Features

Risk ranking has been enhanced to give the user more feedback about changes to the study sheet when the risk ranking headings and values are modified.

Spelling Check

A spelling checker may be used to check data in user defined text type fields in the study and action sheets.

Project Wizard

The project wizard simplifies the creation of new projects. The wizard is allows the user to select study headings, action headings, parameters and guide words from the current library.The wizard prompts the user for the following information:

  • Company information
  • Hazop description
  • Hazop personnel - chairman, secretary and other personnel
  • Sessions
  • Session participants
  • Study Headings
  • Action headings
  • Parameters
  • Guide Words

Report Generator, Import and Export

Hazop+ 2.0 contains the most recent version of report generator. The latest features include:

  • The ability to open alternative report databases and then copy reports from the alternate database to the Hazop+ database. This allows the user to copy report formats from other Isograph products.
  • Unlimited undo and redo of all editing operations.
  • An editing tool for the vertical and horizontal alignment of text boxes, graphs and pictures.
  • An improved selection mechanism. This is based on the standard Windows selection mechanism. The move and resize functionality has also been improved, along with the introduction of an optional grid.
  • The ability to copy text boxes and graphs between reports.
  • An SQL query builder to assist in the construction of complex queries using the Hazop+ database tables.
  • Export of reports in RTF to either the clipboard or to file. The reports can either be exported as RTF text boxes or tables. These formats can both be imported into Microsoft Word.
  • Export of report data to either the clipboard or to file. The data can be exported in the following formats: RTF tables, comma separated text, tab delimited text or another specified delimiter text.
  • Export of selected report templates to a report template database.
  • Import of selected report templates from a report template database.
  • A report wizard to simplify the creation of new reports.
  • An export wizard to guide user through export process.
  • The ability to export all project data.
  • An import wizard to guide user through import process.
  • The ability to import all project data.
  • Automatic matching of Hazop+ table and field names to the input table and field names when the names are identical.
