Life Cycle Cost Nodes
What are Life Cycle Cost Nodes?
Life Cycle Cost nodes represent the cost elements in the cost breakdown structure (CBS). The cost nodes are arranged in a tree structure, with the root node at the top of the tree. Each of the cost nodes has an associated cost function, which is selected by the user from the cost functions available in the project.
When the life cycle cost analysis is performed the cost from the cost function is assigned to the associated cost node, as well as the sum of the costs from the child cost nodes. The analysis proceeds from the bottom of the tree to the top, with the root cost node representing the sum of all the cost node costs.
New cost nodes can be added to the tree either by selecting a toolbar option or by copying and pasting an existing cost structure.
