Exporting Reports

Reports may be exported either in Rich Text Format (RTF) or to various other data formats. Export may be to either the clipboard or to a selected file.

Exporting Reports to RTF

Reports exported in RTF maintain all their layout information and may be inserted directly into MS Word or other programs that support RTF import. Depending on the type of report two RTF formats may be chosen.

The first, RTF text box format, applies to all report types (text, graph and diagram). Using this format all report text items are exported as RTF grouped text boxes. Graphs and diagrams are exported as Windows metafiles.

The second, RTF table format, applies to just text reports. Using this format the header, field headings, fields and footer are exported as RTF tables. The report text boxes are exported as RTF grouped text boxes overlaid on top of the tables.

Other Export Formats

The report generator allows the user to export the data contained in text reports in comma separated value (CSV), tab delimited or an other (specified) delimiter format. In addition data may be exported as RTF tables which may be inserted directly into MS Word documents.
